Meet the Herd

Larry is a retired reining horse. He is athletic and talented, but spends his retirement days eating and herding the rest of the horses. Although he is the leader of the pasture, he loves affection and actually gives kisses to very special people. He is intuitive and builds lasting relationships. His coat is gold and so is his heart.

Flint is our barn Fabio with locks for days. He is the baby of the group at only 5 years old. He is an active show horse (reining) and loves to be cuddled and pampered. He’d rather hang out with his human caregivers than the other horses. Don’t let his looks fool you, though, he is a jokester and puts everything in his mouth. Flint is definitely the toddler of the group and still getting used to Nebraska winters.

We rescued Tango from a past of abuse. He loves his new life as a rodeo barrel horse, but his past scars still impact his life today. Due to his past trauma, he takes longer to build relationships but will walk through fire for the people who give him a chance. His eyes communicate his fear but warms up with kindness.

Blackjack is our gentle giant. While still a show horse, he is the most versatile horse in the barn. He’s great for teaching boundaries and communication because he doesn’t realize how big he is sometimes. He is sweet and curious and loves affection. He is always happy and wants to please those around him.

Bailey is the grandpa of the barn and has lived with us most of his life. He has taught hundreds of children, even very small ones, how to ride and loves to be the center of attention. He will remind you that he is there if you turn your back on him. A show horse most of his life, he just loves to be around people and greets everyone with kindness and innocence.
